I'm particularly drawn to Linux systems and low-level programming — kernel modules, how the network stack actually processes packets, what's happening underneath the tools most people just configure. My netfilter firewall project came from wanting to understand what iptables is doing under the hood.

Netfilter Packet Filter Firewall
Built a custom packet-filtering firewall as a Linux kernel module in C, using the netfilter framework to inspect and filter traffic at the kernel level. Designed a three-VM network environment with an attacker, gateway firewall, and internal server across separate subnets.
Implemented IP routing, port-based filtering, dynamic IP blocking via /proc, and kernel-level logging.
